A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE NANIH WAIYA JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL LADY WARRIORS BASKETBALL TEAM FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING 1998-1999 SEASON AND FOR WINNING THE EAST CENTRAL ATHLETIC CONFERENCE JUNIOR HIGH GIRLS BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT.
WHEREAS, the Nanih Waiya Junior High School Lady Warriors Basketball Team completed the 1998-1999 season with an outstanding record of 9 wins and only 1 loss and won the East Central Athletic Conference Junior High Girls Basketball Tournament; and
WHEREAS, the Lady Warriors team consists of many remarkable players, including Alan Hickman, Elizabeth Kirk, Crystal Conner, Jessica Creekmore, Candy Crosby, Melissa Fulton, Daphanie Hatcher, Dawn Hunt, Cynthia Madison, Twanesha McDonald, Courtnee Moody, Jessica Oswalt, Ashley Pugh, Coco Yates, Nycole Hemphill, Christy Hickman, Jaimee Jones, Kristy Melton and Heather Steele; and
WHEREAS, the Lady Warriors have been superbly coached and inspired by Coach Renee Jones, who has broadened the players knowledge of the game and refined their skills in execution; and
WHEREAS, the Lady Warriors have developed a winning and cooperative spirit and a high degree of sportsmanship, and their activities and attitude reflect great credit upon the individual players and their coach and bring honor to Nanih Waiya High School; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives of the State of Mississippi to recognize and commend excellence, especially when evidenced by the young people of our state, who are its future:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Nanih Waiya Junior High School Lady Warriors Basketball Team and Coach Renee Jones for their outstanding 1998-1999 season, for winning the East Central Athletic Conference Junior High Girls Basketball Tournament and for displaying tireless devotion to their athletic endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Nanih Waiya High School, Coach Renee Jones and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
